Another Cancellation?

From offering huge paychecks and pirating talents from the entertainment and news departments, to coming up with reinvented shows, those are the issues that continue to hound this network. When the alleged amounts of contracts started to leak out, people wondered how the new network could pay up and remain liquid in times of the country’s not so good economic standing. Part of the doubt had something to do with the fortified measures taken by the other two networks as well. Network A firmed up its dominance of primetime by coming up with no nonsense stories in their original teleseryes. Network B beefed up its daytime and news programming. The new network, although having the staff and the talents, could not really get close to the two networks. In fairness to the station, some of its shows have better concepts than some shows of the other networks. Still, advertisers, other than the homegrown consumer goods, were not enough. (Could it have something to do with its free yet bad TV signal, which has limited its viewership?).

Consequently, rumors of axing shows oozed from the network. Quickly, the network and its talents, who were allegedly bound to be affected, allayed fears and insisted no such moves would happen. Then, controversies came up that eventually led to suspensions and resignations. The reaction to the axing issues generated interest but it was not sustained. Lately, another issue has leaked out. Allegedly, the public affairs department of the station is due to be shut down. Gone were those days when the network was generous with the staff, as they are now feeling the scrimping and cost-cutting here and there. Some were heard to have regretted leaving their former network. Nonetheless, this alleged shut down could also be a way to strengthen the network’s other station (where its top-rating show that probes on legal issues was transferred last month). It was done so that the flagship network can concentrate on its entertainment programming. All told, are these things all forthcoming or will the network,as in the past, issue a quick denial again?
