Happy Eyeshadow Thursday, ladies! Not that long ago, I received the BA STAR Natural Eye Shadow Palette to review. I have been known to be rather geek chic so I was all about adding this palette to my ever growing collection of makeup. This brand is targeted towards dancers so I wanted to try it on a night in which I would be doing just that. The time arrived and I was more than excited to have my eyelids covered in gold glitter. The palette has three mineral shadows which are bronze, cocoa, and nude. It also has two gel glitters in gold and crystal. Like I mentioned before, I believe their brand is made for dancers, so it also includes a double sided brush. I honestly LOVE natural palettes. I feel like having hazel/brown eyes, natural palettes give you a sexy pop that a lot of other colors fail to do.
The eyeshadows were easy to apply and had a smooth finish which I adore. The brush that it came with isn't very impressive. I would definitely use your own brush while applying to get the desired amount of shadow you wish for the look you're trying to accomplish.
The smooth finish is something I tend to desire when using an eye shadow. The shadows in this palette are smooth but might be a little too smooth. The creamy texture is a little too creamy to properly blend. I wanted to go for a more natural smoky eye but instead the shadows all sort of melted into one gold color. I actually didn't mind the intense gold that I had created, so I added some of the gold gel glitter to jazz it up. I am a girl that is obsessed with most things that are sparkly but sadly, the gel wasn't as strong as I would have liked. It was still a dazzling look but I could have used a hint more diva.
I tried the colors on their own, and noticed they seem to work better this way. When I blended the three, there was the occasional crease but this didn't happen when I wore them separate. Also, something I took note of is the fallout from applying the shadows. I did have to retouch my makeup after applying the shadows.
This was me the night of the first trial of the shadows. I wish I got a better photo of the colors but it was difficult since they all just turned to a natural gold intense look. I actually loved it and got tons of complements on this natural hue.
The shadows are stunning and great for a natural daytime look. I would definitely recommend them for a lunch date or a shopping trip with your friends. Just remember it's best to wear them separate and the color will definitely last you the entire day. BA Star's makeup is affordable and comes in tons of beautiful colors so I would definitely check out their entire line. You can even use this AWESOME discount code located below....
