"The City Hates Us"

Chicago writer and director Sanicole is proud to introduce her new web series "The City Hates Us".

Her last short film project "Text Tone" was featured on Shadow and Act, Blackfilm.com and recognized by film director Ava DuVernay via a twitter repost. It was also accepted in the Black Harvest Film Festival 2013.

The webseries has made it easier than ever for burgeoning directors to reach global audiences. From Issa Rae and “The Mis-Adventures of the Awkward Black Girl,” to Numa Perrier, Jeanie Daniels and Dennis Dortch’s online channel, “Black and Sexy TV,” webseries have captured the attention of audiences and kept them begging for more.

Director Sanicole Young is being added to the mix with her new webseries “The City Hates Us.” It’s a fresh, cutting edge series, about a talented circle of artist trying to balance life, friendship, and the difficulties of following their dreams in the big city.

Those universal themes demonstrate that this series has something everyone will be able to relate to. Sanicole’s mission with “The City Hates Us” is not to simply duplicate her predecessors, but to create new rules for her successors to follow. She’s not new to filmmaking and has a solid track record of producing quality films. However she’s swimming in new waters with this series, but there’s no doubt with her talent and passion she’ll stay afloat.

Tune in to “The City Hates Us” which will premier on January 6, 2013, and will be featured every Monday thereafter.
