The art of cosplay is bewitching to me. I'm captivated by the wardrobe designs and the exquisite makeup used by these enchanting women who take the time and effort to transform themselves into a fetching creature. Whether it be a sexy scantily clad comic book mistress or a cute-as-a-button anime superhero with a charming quaintness.
What is cosplay?
The definition according to Wikipedia : Cosplay is a type of performance art in which participants wear costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea. Many of these costumes derive from sources of entertainment such as video games, anime, comic books, film and television.
I'll be honest, it was only within the last 2 years I found out about the art of cosplay. It's a subculture that has been around for decades, however each an every year it grows more in popularity. Black female cosplayers are a subculture within a subculture and we are few and far between. However, that is changing remarkably and there are Facebook fan pages, Tumblr blogs, and other social media groups that represent BGN Cosplayers.
