I was contact by Firmoo several months ago to do a review on their eyesglasses but at the time I turned them down because I didn't know the prescription on my glasses and to be quite honest I didn't want to give a review on glasses that didn't have a prescription. No offense to anyone that has reviewed them that doesn't need glasses but to me those who may search for a review are doing it because they most likely need some cheap glasses. Well earlier this month I was contacted again by Firmoo to do a review on their glasses and lucky me I had just been to the eye doctor and I knew all of my prescription information this time.
The unfortunate part is that my PD, or pupillary distance is rather small so my options of glasses they offer (free wise) was very slim. That means I can't really wear glasses that are wide set, like the majority of wide rimmed glasses that are super trendy. I was a little bummed about this because I didn't truly pick out the glasses I would have had I been searching elsewhere.
With that said, I picked out two pair completely different from each other. This is the first pair I choose. I have always been reluctant about trying out these trendy thick rimmed glasses but I actually like how they look and so did the hubby.
The second pair I picked out was mainly because it was one of the only other options that fit my PD otherwise I would have went with another style. I don't care for these glasses. They are cute but not for my face shape. If you are new to wearing glasses then you may or may not know that your face shape really should dictate what style you purchase. If you have a rounded face, like myself, then you should stick to more rectangle shaped glasses. If your face shape is more square then go with rounded glasses. Opposites attract in glasses too. ;) They are actually really cute glasses but I should have known better about the rounded shape.
The overall quality of the frames are great. The only thing I could tell a difference on is the quality of the lens. I have not seen anyone say anything about this but to be honest a lot of the Firmoo reviews I've read are from individuals who don't need glasses. Which is totally cool. If you have never needed them you may find it trendy or even cool to wear them but from someone who has needed glasses and has either worn them or contacts since the early 90s it's not something I'm fond of wearing. I prefer contacts 95% of the time and if I wasn't a big chicken I probably would get Lasik. However, back to the lens, the lens quality is fairly good but I could tell that they weren't as clear as the ones I already owned.
They also weren't cut appropriately. This is also something someone without a prescription would probably never notice. I will say though when I purchase glasses I spend the extra money to get the absolute thinnest lenses you can get because lets face it this girl is blind and without that they would be super thick. haha! I think this was part of the issue. The free review pair wasn't the thinnest lenses you could possibly make them and because of that they rounded them to make them look thinner. I have had this happen to me before and to be quite honest I might have not ever known it was wrong if not for the eye places sending them back and having the company recut them.
Overall I give the Firmoo Eyeglasses 4 stars.
I think the quality is pretty good and the prices are great. If you have worn glasses for prescriptions sake then you know how crazy expensive they can get and Firmoo offers them for a good deal. If you are in need of some new glasses (or even sunnies because they sale those as well) then you should definitely check them out. They have a first pair free program going on so you will definitely want to start there.

The glasses were sent to me for free by Firmoo, to review. All opinions are my own. :)
