During the summer you’ll have tons of admirers checking out your smooth, glowing Mi-Me enhanced skin.  They might come in the form of a cutie making eyes at you from across the room. Or they may have stingers & wings and will leave you with a bite and itch you won’t soon forget. If you’re a mosquito magnet, like me, you love these tips to keep those buggers away and stop the itch.

To repel mosquitoes, you can mix up a some witch hazel and your choice of lavender, lemongrass, or eucalyptus essential oils in a spray bottle. Spritzing your body with this simple body splash will keep the bugs away and help soothe any red, itchy bites.

If you have already been nibbled on, here are a few ways to stop the itch:
  • Apply a few drops of lavender or tea tree essential oil to the bite mark,
  • Apply a thin paste of either baking soda & water or aspirin & water to the itchy spot and allow to dry (do not use aspirin if you are allergic to it),
  • Dab the spot with some vinegar or toothpaste,
  • Rub the spot with the inside of a banana peel,
  • Or combine any of the above methods and cover the spot with an ice pack to reduce inflammation.

Above all try not to scratch, I know it will feel good for the moment, but the more you scratch the more it will itch and the longer the itching will last.
