So I know I have mentioned it before but just for anyone who didn't read it my daughter starts Kindergarten this year. She actually starts next Wednesday so this mommy is trying to enjoy the last full week of having her at home everyday. Sad panda! :( I definitely wanted to make this time in her life a picture perfect moment so I thought what better way than to create a simple 1st day of school frame for her big day. You can create one too with just a few simple and easy supplies.
Supplies:
Frame
Chalkboard Paint
Scrapbook Stickers (optional...3D ones recommended)
Spray Paint (optional)
Directions:
First you will want to spray paint your glass or backing with the chalkboard paint. I picked up a cheap frame from goodwill. It didn't have a glass but the backing was smooth enough to spray paint onto. I then spray painted my frame white. This step is optional. You can either spray paint a old frame, leave the frame natural or pick up a frame already the color or style you prefer.
After everything is dry reassemble the frame and you are ready to go. You can leave as is or you can go an extra step and use scrapbook stickers to dress it up a little. I recommend the 3D stickers so that they don't crease and they just stand out better.
That is all there is too it. So simple and easy but something that can be used year after year for the 1st day of Kindergarten til the first day of High School. Bahaha, first day of high school, I will be lucky if my daughter lets me do the 1st day of 1st Grade next year. ;) Yes, she is a teenager in a 5 year olds body.
What 1st day are your kids or even yourself getting ready for?
