Other performers have trusted their parents or managers to take care of their finances. In these cases, some parents have been lambasted as milking their children to take care of the family expenses, which should be their responsibility. However, other parents have wisely invested the money of their children in worthwhile projects, like investing in real estate or opening a business. For the few who have decided to be financially independent, the results can be disastrous. Take the case of the financial matters of Young Beautiful Actress (YB).
YB was able to regain her stature in her network after a forced vacation. Her talent and looks are hard to put down, and thus, her network still believes in what she can do. Despite her problems then, the network did its best to support her. With various projects, appearances, and endorsements come earnings, which YB allegedly has not been smart enough to save. Her bank accounts are down to zero, her checks have bounced, and she is in deep debt trouble. These money problems have eroded her name and credibility in her banks. What is puzzling is where YB spends her earnings.
YB still lives with her family. Hence, her parent, who can move from one network to another smoothly, takes care of all household expenses. During a taping, YB had to contend with the food served in the production because she had no money to buy her own. Then, she even borrows money for her gasoline expenses. Worse, her parent also pays for the needs of her young child. Some people are worried that YB has yet to save for her child as what other single-parent talents have focused on once they have projects.
While the talent and popularity of YB have yet to be maximized, she should start thinking of her future as well as her child’s. She should wake her up to the reality that fame and fortune can end unexpectedly, but the bills and expenses will stay. YB should learn to rethink her spending habits, if not for herself, then for her child.
It’s good to have money and the things money can buy, but it’s good, too, to check up once in a while, and make sure that you haven’t lost the things that money can’t buy. – George Horace Lorimer
