Clyburn to their esteemed roster of world renowned speakers for the 2nd annual FOCUS100 Pitch Bootcamp and Symposium October 4-6, 2013 in New York City. Now in her second term as a Democrat on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) , Chairman Clyburn has served as the Acting Chairman of the FCC since her appointment by President Barack Obama in May of this year. Clyburn began her service at the FCC in August, 2009, after spending 11 years as a member of the sixth district on the Public Service Commission (PSC) of South Carolina. The Chairman has been a long-term advocate for media ownership rules that reflect the demographics of America, affordable universal telephone and high-speed internet access, greater broadband deployment and adoption throughout the nation, and transparency in regulation.
