Netflix for Books?

I was going through my emails and got an inquiry from a reader of the BGN website about this new service from Scribd.com. I perused the website and was immediately intrigued by this new platform. If you’re a bookworm on a budget, this may be the website for you. I am more of a library bookworm and I love anything with the word FREE in it, however the beauty of Scribd.com is that they provide an unlimited resource of e-books to download and read for the small fee of 8.99 per month.

Library books often have a limited catalog of titles and new releases. In addition, they are checked out swiftly by hungry readers while the rest of us wait with baited breath to have our desired text put on reserve. I had to wait nearly 3 months to get Gone Girl from my library due to the high demand. Scribd.com offers the convenience of availability and option of keeping a book for as long as you’d like. Just like Netflix, Scribd.com offers new users to sign up for a free trial! It's quick, easy, and you can use Scribd.com on your tablet, phone, PC, or any other electronic device while you’re on the go. You can also save your book and archive it so that way if you’re on a plane or in an area with no Wi-Fi, you can still read your titles without an internet connection.

Pretty cool, huh?

Blerd Book Club members, take note. This platform is a new and innovative way to keep your large inventory of books and have it available whenever and wherever you want!
