Regular viewers of “The Buzz” were surprised when the show announced in its Sunday episode that it was the last appearance of Toni Gonzaga and Charlene Gonzales as hosts on the top-rating show.

Before the showbiz talk show ended, a video was shown tracing the journey of how “The Buzz” started up to the time when Gonzaga and Gonzales became part of it.

Voiced over by long-time "The Buzz" host Boy Abunda, he thanked the viewers for keeping the show number one for almost 15 years even when it had a number of changes in terms of hosts and format.

After the video, Gonzales and Gonzaga then said their goodbyes after joining Abunda as the show’s hosts for over three years.

It was not disclosed why Gonzales and Gonzaga are leaving the show. But in the video's voiceover, Abunda hinted about changes in the show.

"Sa inyong walang patid na pagsubaybay, sa inyong walang sawang pagsuporta at sa patuloy naming pagbibigay serbisyo, kasama kayo sa isang panibagong simula," Abunda said in the voiceover.

"Kasali kayo sa pagbubukas ng isang bagong kabanata, mas malawak, mas malaki. Pakikinggan, paguusapan at pakikialaman. Ito ang pagbabagong kakapitan, pagbabagong tatatak sa puso at isipan. Ito ang inyong ‘The Buzz,’" he said.

Gonzales took the opportunity to thank both Gonzaga and Abunda for the wonderful journey that they have shared.

“I just want to say thank you sa 'Buzz' family, sa lahat ng bumubuo ng 'Buzz,' it was a wonderful journey. It was a privilege and honor to be able to share the stage with two of the greatest artists in the industry – Toni Gonzaga and Boy Abunda,” she said.

“Isa rin sa mga reasons kung bakit ko tinanggap ang show na ito is because I want to work with the greats like the both of you. I would say that one of the best gifts that I received from this show was the friendship of you Boy and Toni. Mula sa puso ko maraming maraming salamat,” she added.

Gonzaga, for her part, said she will always look up to Abunda and Gonzales even though they won’t be working with each other every Sunday anymore, adding that she has learned a lot from them about life and career.

“Gusto ko magpasalamat sa Talk Unit for this wonderful opportunity, for letting me be a part of a show like 'The Buzz.' Maraming salamat din kay Tito Boy, he is the most generous person na nakilala ko sa industriyang ito. Hindi po nagsasawang ibahagi sa amin ang nalalaman niya sa industriya, I learned so much from him. Ate Charlene, I will always look up to you as a mom and as a wife. I have so much respect for the both of you,” she said.

Saying she doesn’t believe in goodbyes, Gonzaga said: “I believe that goodbyes don’t really mean that it’s the end or tapos na ang lahat. It just means na 'yung pamamaalam namin sa hapon na ito ay I’ll see you again. I will miss all of you.”
