The Go-To Jeopardy Girl

I'm a nerd.  We all know that.  However, I'm also the go-to Jeopardy girl.

What does that mean?

Whenever I'm among co-workers, friends, or family, I am the one they select to answer a question that you would see on an episode of Jeopardy.  For example, the other day my co-worker asked me,

"Jamie, you're a nerd, what does the K represent when someone quotes 1K or 10K?"
(this is in terms of money and/or quantity).

I simply replied, "K means kilo which is the greek word for thousand."

"I knew you would know the answer!"

I thought everyone knew that, but I'm slowly starting to discover, I have more facts and info in my head than most.  Perhaps that is because I watched Jeopardy as a kid, my mother, brother and I would go back and forth playing competitively against each other and answer as many questions as possible.  To this day whenever I visit my mom, she still DVR's Jeopardy and we watch the episode(s) together.

Thanks mom!  I have random information in my cranium because of you!

Are you the friend, sister, girlfriend, or wife that everyone goes to for answers?  Whether it be a historical question, a math question, or even a question about pop culture?

I'm also a movie geek, so whenever someone has trouble naming a movie, I ask them, "name two of the actors in the film and I can tell you the name of film".  I could totally kick someone's rear-end in the game Scene-It.

I wouldn't call myself Miss Smarty-Pants, but its seems like I am the one my circle of friends come to whenever they need answers to random factoids about history, science, math, or pop culture.  Not sure how I feel about it.  I guess I'm flattered, but let me submit to you, that I can convince each of  you that by watching Jeopardy every day and playing it competitively against friends or family it will help to boost your I.Q. up a few points.  I totally give Alex Trebek most of the credit for my level of intelligence.  Not sure if that's a good thing---but its the truth.
