Meet Seun Erinle: The Creator of BlerdNation

Seun Erinle, the creator of BlerdNation, is a 29-year old graphic designer from Chattanooga, Tennessee. She has always been interested in technology and the web for as long as she remembers. In the 80s and early 90s when few people had access to computers, she was fortunate enough to be exposed to them by her father. He saw the potential of technology and the doors it could open. Early exposure to computers and the sciences led Seun to choose a degree in Computer Science.

Obtaining her Bachelors of Science degree at the University of South Carolina and a degree in Digital Art & Design from Full Sail University allowed Seun to start her own graphic design business after graduation. On her down time from pursuing her dreams, Seun enjoys movies, reading, design, and is a fan of Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and the BBC series Sherlock. The early years of her life were spent in New York City, the multicultural center of the world. However when her parents moved to Tennessee due to a job opportunity, her multicultural atmosphere shifted to a singular one.

The Chattanooga suburbs did not provide the black influences she was used to, leaving her only with her parents to fill the void. This led Seun to become interested in activities that would take her mind off of being different from her peers such as math, science, art, technology, and sports. Within the past year Seun came across the word 'blerd', which means ‘black nerd’, and it instantly resonated with her. Immediately heading to the internet Seun wanted to know if there were other ‘blerds’ like herself online. Unfortunately there was nothing definitive online but it led her to come up with an idea.

Seun wanted a place for positivity, encouragement, networking, and bravery to be who we truly are. It's a place where blerds from all over the world can share their love of being a blerd; thus, the birth of BlerdNation. The BlerdNation site is in its infancy and has the potential for infinite growth to reach the masses. Seun is excited to see where this newly forming community is going to go; she has just touched the tip of the iceberg and is excited about the journey. So if you are interested in learning more about being a blerd, she invites you to be a part of BlerdNation.
