Review: Misikko Hana Pro 1" Flat Iron

I will admit this mama has never been much in the way of using any kind of curling irons, flat irons or any other hair styling tool. I didn't even own a flat iron until now. I rarely have the extra time to mess with it and my hair is the world's worst at holding curls. I'm not even lying, world's worst. My cousin (who is much younger than me, she is a senior in high school) is a die hard flat iron user. Her hair is always super shiny and gorgeous when she uses the flat iron so when I was approached to review the Hana Pro I was definitely interested in checking it out and giving it a try.

Here are my results. In the left-hand picture I flat ironed my hair. Although I have fairly straight hair to begin with I could definitely tell a difference. It didn't look as frizzy and because of that it looked a lot shiner. In the right-hand picture I tried the soft curls technique. Clearly I didn't curl my whole hair, I just wanted to show you what type of soft curls the flat iron could provide.

What I love about this product is that the plates are ceramic. They are real ceramic plates through and through not ceramic coated plates. It has a 1" barrel so it was easy to hold and handle and the cord swivels so no matter which way you turn your hand you aren't getting tangled up. It has an adjustable temperature dial which I found to be nice because not everyone's hair is created equal. If you have thicker hair you can set the temperature hotter or if you have damaged hair you can set it lower. It heated up super quick, like 30 seconds, so there goes my complaint about not having enough time to do something a little extra with my hair. I could see myself traveling with this tool. I can go flat for frizz control and shine or I can go soft curls for a little dressier look.

If you are a flat iron person and in the market for a new one or just looking to purchase one for the first time then I definitely suggest checking out the Hana Pro from Misikko. They are a little pricey, as most quality professional tools would are, but I think worth the price for all the pros it offers. Imagine all the cheap flat irons you could potentially go through over time.

I give the product 5 stars.

Do you use a flat iron regularly?
