Chilltown TV: A Hip-Hop Cartoon Comedy Series
Chilltown, a hip-hop oriented cartoon web series, launches its fourth fabulously funny foray into a new realm of hilarity, K Deuce and the Biz, on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 on the ChilltownTV YouTube channel. The brainchild of writer/animator Leesa Dean, the comedy stars Chappelle Show and Patrice O'Neal alums Wil Sylvince and Dante Nero. Chilltown focuses on the lives and misadventures of three hip-hop heads, G, Marv & Plad who form an outsider fringe alliance. With an unwitting ability to get into wild, sometimes surreal, escapades, they deal with life, crappy day jobs and living in a neighborhood where something's always going on.
Added in the mix: G's cousin K Deuce, a wannabe music biz mogul and his girlfriend, Lele. Most of the episodes revolve around the music business and skewer elements of rap and pop culture. Episode 4, a two part features Wil Sylvince in multiple roles. His character, K Deuce, who’s been knocking around the music business waiting for break, finally gets an internship at a record label. Needless to say, things, hilariously, don’t go as planned. “This episode means a lot to me,” says Dean. “I’m a hip-hop head and some of my friends have been in K Deuce’s shoes. Creatively, doing this episode was probably the most fun I’ve ever had. It’s my love letter to hip-hop.” Watch Episode 4

ABOUT THE CREATOR: Bronx-native Dean had sold a few animated properties to TV networks—including Chilltown-- and production companies but was always "in development." Creatively frustrated, she lived off her savings, supplementing with temp jobs, decided to put it on the web and taught herself to animate. Five years later, she's completed three series, guerilla style. Chilltown is the first. "It was a real roller-coaster ride. One day I'd be struggling to draw something, thinking I'd never finish. And literally the next, a comedian I really admired would commit to the project.”
